FedEx & The Library Project Deliver Children’s Literacy Bags, Supporting 75 Xi’an Families

On August 23, 2025, FedEx partnered with The Library Project to deliver 75 Children’s Literacy Bags to families at a community center in Xi’an, China. Made possible through a grant from FedEx, the donation provided essential literacy resources designed to support both children and their parents.

Each Children’s Literacy Bag contained five carefully selected children’s books and one activity box. The materials were designed around a central theme of bravery, kindness, and emotional well-being, equipping parents and children with resources that encourage reading and foster personal growth.

Children’s Literacy Bags are a core program of The Library Project, designed to increase access to high-quality reading materials for families in underserved communities. For more information about this program, please visit our Children’s Literacy Bags page.

To mark the donation, a celebration was held at a community center. Families participated in literacy-focused activities and interactive games, creating a space where children could experience the joy of reading together. These activities also highlighted the importance of early childhood literacy and family engagement in education.

“FedEx’s support makes a meaningful difference for families in Xi’an,” said Tom Stader, Executive Director & Founder of The Library Project. “By putting high-quality books directly into the hands of children, we encourage reading at home and nurture values like bravery and kindness. Partnerships like this allow us to reach more families and strengthen children’s literacy.”

The Library Project remains committed to addressing literacy needs across China through programs such as Reading Rooms, Reading Corners, and Children’s Literacy Bags. Partnerships with corporate donors, such as FedEx, play a vital role in expanding our reach and ensuring that more children and families have access to the resources they need to thrive.

We extend our gratitude to FedEx for making this donation possible and to the community center for hosting the celebration. Together, we continue to take meaningful steps toward improving literacy and supporting the educational journeys of children.
