Five Months of Growth for Our Free Tools & Resources

November 4, 2026In Free Tools and Resources3 Minutes

The Library Project’s Free Tools & Resources initiative continues to grow, with nonprofits around the world downloading practical resources designed to help strengthen their organizations and literacy programs. Most recently, we’ve seen five months of growth, with September and October setting new download records.

For us, these numbers represent something much bigger than files being downloaded. Each resource has the potential to help a small or medium-sized nonprofit improve how it raises funds, manages its finances, works with its Board of Directors, designs programs, or delivers literacy programming in its community.

October 2026 Sets a New Record

October was our strongest month since launching the initiative, with 3,250 downloads, an increase of nearly 30% over September’s 2,502 downloads.

Our Selecting Books for Primary School Students guide was the most downloaded individual resource during October, followed by the Program Budget Template and Complete Nonprofit Toolkit.

Download activity came from countries across every region of the world. During October, some of the highest activity came from France, the United States, Germany, Brazil, Bangladesh, India, Vietnam, China, Turkey, South Africa, Pakistan, Indonesia, and the Philippines, demonstrating how widely these resources are being used.

Supporting Literacy Organizations Around the World

The Free Tools & Resources initiative was created to support small and medium-sized nonprofit organizations working to improve literacy. Many of these organizations have deep knowledge of the communities they serve but operate with limited staff, budgets, and access to professional nonprofit resources.

By making our tools freely available, we hope organizations can spend less time building systems and documents from scratch and more time focusing on the children, families, schools, and communities they serve.

The initiative is part of The Library Project’s Global Partnerships work. In addition to funding literacy programs, we provide capacity building, fundraising support, mentoring, and free professional resources designed to help locally led nonprofit organizations strengthen their operations and expand their impact.

Five months of month-over-month growth and nearly 14,000 downloads are encouraging milestones, but we are only getting started. We will continue developing and sharing new resources based on the needs of literacy organizations around the world.

Explore The Library Project’s Free Tools & Resources and download anything that can help strengthen your organization. All of our resources are free, and we encourage nonprofit leaders to use, adapt, and share them with others working to improve literacy in their communities.

About The Library Project

The Library Project is dedicated to improving children’s literacy worldwide. We envision a world where every child has access to a quality education, and that starts with literacy.
