Cummins’ September Library Donations to Benefit 5,036 Students and Teachers

In September 2024, Cummins will support seven elementary schools and one community center across China with Reading Rooms and Reading Corners. These donations will benefit 5,036 students and teachers, providing them with vital educational resources.

The Library Project’s Book Content Core Values emphasize the importance of STEAM education, inclusion and diversity, environmental protection, girls’ education, promoting world peace, and nurturing both the heart and mind. These values guide the selection of books to ensure that they foster critical thinking, empathy, and a well-rounded understanding of the world, empowering students to become thoughtful, informed, and compassionate individuals. Each of these schools will receive comprehensive teacher training and one year of monitoring, evaluation, and reporting to ensure the effective use of these resources and maximize the impact on students’ educational outcomes.

Since our partnership began in 2008, Cummins and The Library Project have established libraries in 278 schools, including 149 Reading Rooms, 74 Reading Corners, and 55 Book Donations, providing 300,859 Chinese language children’s books to young readers.
