BESTSELLER Supports Children’s Literacy in Rural China

The Library Project proudly announces ongoing support from BESTSELLER through a new grant to provide 25 Reading Corners to rural elementary schools and 100 Children’s Literacy Bags to students in China. This generous donation continues a partnership that began in 2011, marking more than ten years of BESTSELLER’s dedication to improving literacy for children in underserved communities.

Reading Corners is a core program of The Library Project. Each Reading Corner turns a classroom into a space that promotes daily reading by offering age-appropriate children’s books. These spaces encourage both independent and group reading, helping students develop essential literacy skills. For more information about the program, please visit our Reading Corner page.

Along with Reading Corners, this grant will fund 100 Children’s Literacy Bags. Each bag contains three books, ensuring students have access to educational resources at home. Designed to encourage family involvement in reading, the Literacy Bags extend the impact of our programs beyond the classroom. Learn more about the initiative on our Children’s Literacy Bags page.

Our Book Content Core Values guide the Library Project’s book choices. These values emphasize themes such as STEAM education, inclusion and diversity, environmental protection, girls’ education, promoting world peace, and nurturing the heart and mind. By incorporating these themes, we ensure that children have access to books that develop literacy, expand perspectives, and foster empathy.

BESTSELLER’s long-term support creates a lasting impact on the children and communities we serve,” said Tom Stader, Executive Director & Founder of The Library Project. “We are deeply grateful for their partnership and ongoing commitment to improving literacy in rural China.”
