The Library Project Funds Second Program in Phoenix, Arizona

The Library Project is pleased to announce the successful funding of a second Read & Connect program through our partnership with Joy for Books. This program took place in an elementary school in Phoenix, Arizona, reaching 30 students with access to culturally diverse children’s books and structured literacy programming.

Each Read & Connect program provides a classroom with a curated set of 10 culturally diverse books, selected by the classroom teacher to reflect the students’ identities and experiences. The program is paired with a guided literacy session led by the Joy for Books team, helping students engage with the stories and build stronger reading habits.

With the completion of this second program, The Library Project has now supported 60 students across two classrooms in Phoenix through this partnership.

“We are excited to continue building momentum with Joy for Books,” said Tom Stader, Executive Director & Founder of The Library Project. “Their model is simple, effective, and centered on the student experience. We are proud to support their work and expand access to books in U.S. classrooms.”

This second program reinforces our commitment to supporting literacy initiatives in the United States through our Global Partnerships initiative. By working with organizations like Joy for Books, we can fund locally implemented, scalable programs aligned with our mission.

The Library Project is actively fundraising to support U.S.-based programs. Each $205 donation provides a classroom with 10 children’s books and a structured literacy session. To support U.S. classrooms, please make a donation through The Library Project’s website with a United States designation. Your contribution will help bring books and literacy programming to more classrooms across the United States.

We are incredibly proud of our partnership with Joy for Books and look forward to funding additional programs in Phoenix and beyond.
