The Library Project Announces Partnership with Joy for Books

January 14, 2026In United States of America4 Minutes

The Library Project is pleased to announce a new partnership with Joy for Books, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to champion culturally diverse children’s books as a path to literacy in the United States.

Through this partnership, The Library Project will support Joy for Books’ Read & Connect program, a classroom-based initiative that increases access to culturally relevant books while engaging students in structured literacy programming. The Read & Connect program provides a classroom with 10 culturally diverse children’s books for $205. Teachers select books that reflect the backgrounds and experiences of their students, ensuring that each classroom library is relevant and engaging. Following the book donation, the Joy for Books team delivers a structured literacy session that helps students connect with the stories and strengthen their reading habits.

This model aligns closely with The Library Project’s approach to literacy, which focuses on access to high-quality books, teacher engagement, and creating environments where reading becomes part of everyday life.

Global Partnerships

This collaboration is part of The Library Project’s Global Partnerships initiative, which supports literacy-focused nonprofit organizations worldwide. Through this initiative, The Library Project works with partner organizations to identify scalable, high-impact programs and fundraise for them together. Once funding goals are met, partners implement the programs within their communities.

Global Partnerships extends The Library Project’s impact by working with organizations that are deeply rooted in their local contexts. This model supports both program delivery and organizational growth while ensuring that funds are used effectively and transparently.

Expanding Our Work to the United States

Joy for Books is The Library Project’s first Global Partner in the United States. Through this partnership, we support U.S. classrooms with culturally diverse books and support Joy for Books’ approach to student engagement and literacy programming.

“We are excited to partner with Joy for Books,” said Tom Stader, Executive Director & Founder of The Library Project. “Their focus on culturally diverse books and classroom-based programming aligns closely with our mission. This partnership allows us to support students in the United States while continuing to expand our global work.”

Support Classrooms in the United States

The Library Project is actively fundraising to support U.S.-based programs. Each $205 donation provides a classroom with 10 children’s books and a structured literacy session. To support U.S. classrooms, please make a donation through The Library Project’s website with a United States designation. Your contribution will help bring books and literacy programming to more classrooms across the United States.
