Announcing The Library Project’s Global Partnerships Initiative

March 6, 2026In Global Partnerships4 Minutes

For nearly two decades, The Library Project has worked to improve children’s literacy by donating books, establishing libraries, training teachers, and engaging families in the joy of reading. Since 2006, our programs have helped bring millions of books to communities where access to reading materials is limited.

Today, we are pleased to share the next step in that journey.

Expanding Literacy Impact Through Global Partnerships

In November 2025, The Library Project quietly launched a new initiative: Global Partnerships. Through this program, we collaborate with literacy and education organizations worldwide to support their efforts to expand access to books and reading opportunities in their communities.

Rather than establishing large field offices, The Library Project works through local nonprofit partners. This partnership-driven model allows us to keep operational costs low while directing more resources toward programs that directly benefit children, teachers, and families. It also ensures that literacy initiatives are locally led, culturally relevant, and community-driven.

Our role within these partnerships is to strengthen and support the work already happening on the ground. Depending on the needs of each organization, this support may include:

  • Fundraising support to help partners secure funding for their literacy programs
  • Capacity building for nonprofit teams, including guidance on program development, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Access to tools and resources developed from The Library Project’s more than twenty years of experience implementing literacy programs

By combining our experience with the expertise of local organizations, we aim to help partners scale their impact while maintaining strong community roots.

Supporting Organizations Doing Incredible Work

Since launching the initiative last year, we have already begun working with a small group of organizations in different parts of the world. These partners are doing remarkable work; creating libraries, running reading programs, supporting teachers, and helping children discover the joy of books.

Many of these organizations operate with limited resources but deliver extraordinary results within their communities.

Over the next few weeks, we will begin sharing more about these partners and the impact they are making. Each story will highlight the creativity, dedication, and leadership of the local organizations working every day to promote literacy.

Building a Global Literacy Network

The vision behind Global Partnerships is simple: connect organizations working toward the same goal, ensuring everyone has access to books and the opportunity to become a lifelong reader.

By working together, sharing knowledge, and supporting one another’s programs, we believe that literacy initiatives can grow stronger and reach more communities.

This collaborative model also allows The Library Project to expand its global impact while staying true to the principles that have guided our work since the beginning: partnership, efficiency, and a deep commitment to improving literacy.

Learn More

We invite readers, partners, and supporters to learn more about this initiative and the organizations involved.

In the coming weeks, we look forward to introducing the inspiring organizations that are part of this growing network and the communities whose futures are being shaped by greater access to books and reading.

Together, we are building a global movement for literacy.

About The Library Project

The Library Project envisions a world where every child has access to a quality education, and that starts with literacy. Since 2006, they have benefited more than 1,000,000 children and teachers through more than 8,000 library donations. Their programs include Reading Rooms, Reading Corners, and Children’s Literacy Bags, all designed to create educational spaces where children can learn and grow. The Library Project is committed to measurable impact and continuous support for rural elementary schools, kindergartens, orphanages, community centers, and the home.
