The Library Project is delighted to celebrate the completion of a new school library in An Giang, Vietnam, made possible through a partnership with NON Library, a Global Partner of The Library Project. The NON Library team brought a vibrant and welcoming reading space to THCS Long Phú School, expanding access to books and creative learning opportunities for students.

To support the project, The Library Project contributed 10,000,000 VND (approximately $390 USD) toward the library’s development. With this support, the NON Library team designed and built a colorful and engaging environment that invites students to explore the joy of reading. The new space features three playful “Ladybug” bookshelves and decorative lighting that helps transform the library into an inspiring place for students to gather and learn. At the heart of the library are 1,000 Vietnamese-language children’s books, offering students access to stories and knowledge that can nurture curiosity and build strong reading habits.

The library donation day, attended by 325 students, also included a series of activities designed to engage students beyond the library shelves. The NON Library team, together with volunteers and partners, organized a drawing workshop for students in grades 6 and 7, encouraging creativity and self-expression through art. For older students in grades 8 and 9, the team hosted a career orientation workshop that introduced them to future educational and career possibilities. Together, these activities helped make the library launch a celebration of learning, imagination, and future opportunity.

This special library will benefit approximately 495 students in grades 6 through 9 attending THCS Long Phú School.

The project also reflects the power of The Library Project’s Global Partnerships initiative, which supports literacy organizations worldwide by sharing resources, providing fundraising support, and offering organizational expertise. By working with local partners such as NON Library, The Library Project can help expand literacy opportunities in communities where access to books is limited.

“I love the young, creative energy the NON Library team brought to this project,” said Tom Stader, Executive Director and Founder of The Library Project. “The Ladybug Bookshelf design is absolutely wonderful, it transforms the library into a joyful and imaginative space for students. We are proud to support such an exciting young nonprofit in Vietnam and to work together to expand access to books for children.”

The Library Project is currently fundraising to support the next library project with NON Library, and every contribution helps move that vision forward. Even a small donation can help bring books, creativity, and opportunity to students who are eager to learn.

Together with our partners, we remain committed to expanding access to books and building spaces where children can discover the lifelong power of reading.
