The Library Project Supports Children’s Literacy in the United States
The Library Project is pleased to announce our third grant to Joy for Books, continuing our partnership to support children’s literacy in the United States.
This grant will fund another Read & Connect program at an elementary school in Phoenix, providing students with access to culturally diverse children’s books and an engaging literacy experience designed to encourage reading and connection through stories.
Supporting Reading in the Classroom
Through the Read & Connect program, Joy for Books works directly with elementary school classrooms to make diverse and engaging books more accessible to children.
Each program provides a participating classroom with a curated collection of 10 culturally diverse children’s books selected with input from the classroom teacher. Joy for Books also leads a guided literacy session that allows students to explore the books, discuss the stories, and strengthen their connection to reading.
The books remain in the classroom following the program, allowing students and teachers to continue using them throughout the school year.
Growing Our Partnership with Joy for Books
This is the third grant The Library Project has provided to Joy for Books to support Read & Connect programming in Phoenix. Our continued partnership reflects a shared belief that children benefit when they have access to books that represent a wide range of people, cultures, experiences, and perspectives.

By supporting locally led literacy programs, we can help expand access to books and strengthen reading opportunities for children in the United States and around the world.
