Growing a Network of Places to Read in Honduras

The Library Project is excited to welcome educate. as our newest Global Partner, beginning a new collaboration to expand access to books and literacy opportunities for children and young people in Honduras.

educate. works alongside rural communities to create spaces where young people can learn, explore their interests, and take an active role in shaping their futures. At the center of this work is its Youth Center in Trinidad, Santa Bárbara, which brings educational programs, community activities, and a public library together under one roof. The organization has also developed a growing network of school-based community libraries across Honduras.

More Books, More Places to Read

Through our new partnership, The Library Project will support educate.’s Youth Center and growing library network through Reading Rooms, Reading Corners, Book Donations, and Literacy Programs.

This support will help bring more children’s books into the places where young people already gather and learn. Reading Rooms and Reading Corners can create welcoming spaces for children to explore books, while Book Donations and Literacy Programs can strengthen existing libraries and encourage children to spend more time reading.

Through our Global Partnerships initiative, The Library Project works with locally led nonprofit organizations to strengthen and expand children’s literacy programs worldwide. We provide funding, capacity building, fundraising support, and free resources to help our partners grow their impact and reach more children.
