About The Library Project
The Library Project supports rural education across China, providing children with access to libraries, literacy programs, and teacher training. Since its inception in 2006, we have transformed the educational landscape for over a million children and teachers in more than 3,000 schools. Our commitment to creating safe, educational spaces where children can learn, grow, and explore the world is at the heart of everything we do. With a focus on measurable impact, The Library Project’s story began with a simple idea among friends, growing into a comprehensive initiative that supports rural elementary schools, orphanages, and community centers. Our dedication to improving education one book at a time has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Platinum Seal of Transparency from GuideStar, the Corporate Social Responsibility Award from AmCham, and being named a Top-Rated Nonprofit by GreatNonprofits from 2018 to 2024.
Companies can amplify their impact by partnering with The Library Project, contributing to the development of educational resources and literacy programs that transform rural communities. Individuals can support this cause through donations, directly funding libraries, children’s literacy bags, and teacher training programs to foster a love of reading and learning among children.
