The Library Project is excited to welcome Añañau as our newest Global Partner, expanding our work to support children’s literacy and education in Peru.

Based in Cusco, Añañau works with children, adolescents, and families in underserved communities to expand access to quality, inclusive education. Its programs create safe and supportive learning environments where children can strengthen their academic skills, build confidence, and develop a lifelong interest in learning.

Strengthening Children’s Literacy

Through our new partnership, The Library Project will support Añañau’s children’s literacy programming, helping young learners strengthen their reading and language skills through educational activities and individualized support.

Añañau recognizes that every child learns differently. Its educational programs give children more opportunities to practice essential skills, receive support where they may be struggling, and build confidence in their ability to learn.

Literacy is central to this work. By helping children build stronger reading skills, Añañau is creating a foundation that supports learning across subjects and helps children participate more fully in their education.

“We are excited to welcome Añañau as our newest Global Partner,” said Tom Stader, Executive Director & Founder of The Library Project. “Strong reading skills can shape a child’s entire educational journey. We look forward to supporting Añañau as they create more opportunities for children in Peru to strengthen their literacy skills and become confident learners.”

Through our Global Partnerships initiative, The Library Project works with locally led nonprofit organizations to strengthen and expand children’s literacy programs worldwide. We provide funding, capacity building, fundraising support, and free resources to help our partners grow their impact and reach more children.

Help us create more opportunities for children to become strong, confident readers. Your support allows The Library Project to work alongside organizations like Añañau to strengthen locally led literacy programs and reach children in communities worldwide.

About Añañau

Founded in 2014, Añañau is a nonprofit organization based in Cusco, Peru, that empowers disadvantaged and vulnerable children, adolescents, and families through education and sustainable development. Its programs combine educational support with skills development, health, family engagement, and community participation to help children develop their abilities and create opportunities for their futures.

The name “Añañau” comes from Quechua, a language spoken throughout the Andes, and is an expression of affection meaning “how beautiful” or “how sweet.” Through its work, Añañau seeks to build a more inclusive, equitable society where children and families have opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.
