The Library Project partners with the Thimphu READ Center in Bhutan
The Library Project is pleased to announce our partnership with the Thimphu READ Center in Bhutan. Through this partnership, we will donate Dzongkha- and English-language children’s books to the Center’s community library in Thimphu, supporting its literacy programs and expanding reading opportunities for children.
The Thimphu READ Center brings children together through reading sessions, creative activities, and after-school learning. Its programs help young readers practice their skills and build confidence in a welcoming community space. Our book donations will add to the library’s collection, giving children more stories to explore and supporting the team’s ongoing literacy work.
Providing books in both Dzongkha and English creates opportunities for children to enjoy reading in each language. These books will support regular reading practice, encourage curiosity, and help make the library a place children return to as they grow as readers.
The Library Project helps Global Partners achieve their missions and bring literacy programs to more children through fundraising support, free mentoring, and free organizational tools. We help partners raise funds, address challenges, and plan, manage, and evaluate their programs.

The Thimphu READ Center is a locally registered Bhutanese community organization connected to the READ Global network. Alongside its community library and resource center, it supports access to education, youth leadership, and community-led livelihood initiatives. Its work emphasizes local leadership and inclusive learning opportunities, particularly for women and young people.
