tesa donates 2,500 books to a rural elementary school

In September 2024, tesa will donate 2,500 much-needed books to a rural elementary school in Anhui Province, China. This donation comes at a crucial time for the school, which serves over 20 villages and has 419 students. The school’s current book collection needs to be updated, with no new additions since 2017, and the average student reads fewer than three books annually.

tesa’s donation includes a diverse range of books, carefully selected to align with The Library Project’s Book Content Core Values. The collection spans various topics, including literature, science, mental health, environmental protection, life habits, and gender equality. These books will create a richer, more inclusive reading environment that caters to students from grades 1 to 6.

To ensure the success of tesa’s book donation, The Library Project will provide a full year of teacher training, monitoring, evaluation, and ongoing assistance. This support will help educators integrate the new books into their curriculum, fostering a rich learning environment. The Library Project’s commitment to monitoring and evaluation ensures that the resources are used to their fullest potential, creating lasting educational benefits for the students and helping build a sustainable reading culture.

“At The Library Project, we believe that every child deserves access to quality education. tesa’s generous donation of 2,500 children’s books will profoundly impact the students at this rural elementary school, opening doors to new knowledge and possibilities. This support demonstrates the power of partnerships in creating lasting change in children’s education.” — Tom Stader, Founder of The Library Project.

The donation not only replenishes the school’s library and classroom reading corners but also represents a significant step toward improving literacy and educational outcomes for these students. The children will now have access to books that inspire imagination, curiosity, and learning, helping them to develop a deeper love for reading.

tesa’s generosity will undoubtedly have a profound and lasting impact on the lives of these children. This donation is not just about books but about providing them with the resources they need to grow academically and personally. It exemplifies the power of partnerships in making a difference in rural education.
