Overview
Thank you for your interest in partnering with The Library Project. This application will take about 30 minutes to complete and is designed to help us learn more about your organization. You will be asked about your mission, goals, challenges, program costs, program outcomes, and the ways you hope The Library Project can support your work.
After we review your application, our team will contact you to schedule a call via Google Meet to discuss next steps. We look forward to learning more about your organization and exploring how we can strengthen children’s literacy together.
We are Not a Traditional Foundation
The Library Project is not a traditional grantmaking foundation. Instead, we work with partner organizations to raise funds for specific literacy programs. Together, we identify a program, define the budget and goals, and collaborate on fundraising. Once the funding goal is reached, The Library Project releases the funds to the partner organization to implement the program locally. This model allows partners to focus on delivering impactful literacy programs while benefiting from shared fundraising support and increased visibility.
We are Looking for Programs That Scale
The Library Project focuses on supporting small, tangible literacy programs that are easy for donors to understand and simple to scale as funding grows. We look for initiatives with clear unit costs and measurable outcomes, allowing supporters to see exactly how their contributions create impact. Examples include $2 to provide a children’s book to rural elementary schools in China, $35 for after-school literacy training for one student in Tanzania, $205 to support a Read-a-Long session in urban schools in the United States, or $300–$900 grants contributing toward a $2,000 rural school library in Vietnam. Programs like these resonate with our donor community because they are concrete, transparent, and scalable as additional funds are raised. For this reason, we prioritize smaller, modular initiatives rather than large, single-budget projects—please do not apply with a $50,000 literacy initiative.
