Books, Reading Spaces, and Stronger Literacy in Indonesia
The Library Project is excited to welcome Yayasan Literasi Anak Indonesia (YLAI) as our newest Global Partner, bringing together two organizations committed to helping children develop strong reading skills and a lifelong love of books.
Since 2014, YLAI has worked with schools and educators across Indonesia to strengthen early-grade literacy, improve access to quality children’s books, and create child-friendly spaces where reading can become part of everyday learning.
Creating More Opportunities to Read
Through our new partnership, The Library Project will support children’s literacy through Reading Rooms, Reading Corners, Book Donations, and Literacy Programs.
These programs will help bring engaging, age-appropriate books closer to children while creating welcoming spaces where they can read independently, listen to stories, and participate in literacy activities. By combining access to books with purposeful reading programs, we can help children build both the skills and enthusiasm needed to become confident readers.
YLAI brings significant experience to this work. Its literacy programs support interactive reading, phonics, shared reading, guided reading, and independent reading, while its school library initiatives help educators create environments where children are encouraged to explore and enjoy books.
