FORVIA Foundation Brings STEAM Reading Corners to Tianjin

September 12, 2025In China3 Minutes

The Library Project is pleased to announce the donation of seven STEAM Reading Corners to a rural elementary school in Tianjin, China. This donation was made possible through the support of the FORVIA Foundation and took place on September 12, 2025. It reflects FORVIA’s ongoing commitment to expanding educational opportunities for children.

To celebrate the donation, 16 volunteers from the FORVIA Shanghai and Tianjin offices joined activities at the school, working directly with students and teachers. In addition, a remote team of FORVIA volunteers based in Shanghai conducted an online course introducing automobile knowledge to students, combining hands-on engagement with digital learning opportunities.

Reading Corners are a core program of The Library Project, transforming classrooms into welcoming spaces for daily reading and learning. Each includes age-appropriate books and a bright blue bookshelf, supporting both independent and group study. With STEAM-focused resources, they foster curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving. Learn more on our Reading Corner page.

To ensure the long-term success of this donation, all elementary school teachers will participate in a one-year training program. This program will provide educators with the tools necessary to integrate Reading Corners into their lessons. In addition, the Reading Corners will undergo comprehensive monitoring and evaluation to ensure both usage and measurable impact.

Book selection for each Reading Corner follows The Library Project’s Book Content Core Values, which emphasize STEAM education, inclusion, environmental protection, girls’ education, peace, and nurturing the heart and mind. This ensures children build literacy skills while exploring themes that broaden perspectives and foster empathy.

“FORVIA Foundation’s support goes beyond financial contributions. Their volunteers actively engaged with students, both in-person and online, making this donation especially meaningful,” said Tom Stader, Executive Director & Founder of The Library Project. “We are grateful for their partnership, which provides children with the resources and encouragement needed to develop literacy skills while also sparking an interest in STEAM subjects.”

The Library Project remains committed to improving literacy and educational opportunities in underserved communities. With the support of partners such as FORVIA Foundation, we can expand access to quality resources, strengthen STEAM education, and ensure that more children have the tools to succeed.
