The Library Project is proud to announce a recent Reading Room donation to an elementary school in Hunan, China, made possible by the generous support of CMGE. The donation included 1,200 books, six tables, 36 chairs, six bookshelves, 11 STEAM Boxes, a globe, and library management training materials to help the school create a vibrant and educational space for its students. In addition, CMGE went above and beyond by donating ten second-hand computers, five basketballs, five badminton sets, a scale, and 40 boxes of stationery, further enriching the school’s resources.

The Library Project’s Reading Room program creates welcoming spaces in schools filled with a wide range of books and materials to foster a love for reading and independent learning. The books are carefully selected to align with the organization’s Book Content Core Values, which focus on inclusion, diversity, STEAM education, girls’ education, and promoting world peace and environmental awareness. These values guide the selection process to ensure students receive meaningful and impactful children’s books that nurture the heart and mind.

This donation is part of CMGE’s ongoing commitment to improving literacy and education in rural China. Since 2017, CMGE has supported ten regions in China with 13 library donations, reaching schools in Guangdong, Jilin, Hebei, Anhui, Shanxi, Jiangxi, Hubei, Henan, Tianjin, and Hunan. Their contributions have impacted the education that children receive daily, providing the resources necessary for academic and personal growth.

“Working with CMGE has been a privilege, and I am incredibly proud of the difference they are making in children’s literacy across China,” says Tom Stader, Executive Director & Founder of The Library Project. “Their continued support helps us create learning environments that inspire a love for reading and open doors to a brighter future for these students.”

Through this partnership, The Library Project and CMGE continue to work together to create educational opportunities for children in underserved areas. The impact of these donations goes beyond books—they empower students with tools to succeed academically and foster a community of lifelong learners.
