Just another day at the office...

We drove for two hours from Lan Gao City to the port

Once at the port we loaded the boat with the school's new library.


The Library Project team: Belinda, Jenny and Gabby (our super volunteer). We took the boat for 30 minutes to the base of the mountain.

Unloading the boat at the base of the mountain. The school is about a 45 minutes walk up a dirt path. There are no roads to this community.

The school's 4th, 5th and 6th graders walked down the mountain to help carry everything up the mountain by hand and in wicker baskets on their backs.

The Library Project learned that our books can be used as hats.


When the school bell rings, the children all walk home. Some walk for over two hours to get to school. Up hill, both ways.
