Host an Event

Hosting an event is a great way to get involved at The Library Project. Volunteers hosting small grassroots events are a huge reason for our ability to provide libraries to support so many elementary schools and orphanages with a gift of a library.

The Library Project has developed a number of Event How-To-Guides intended to help get volunteers started on planning their events.

Event How-To-Guides

Hosting a Library Project event is a great way to get involved and make a huge impact at a rural elementary school or orphanage. We have developed a number of "Event How-to-Guides" that provides a lot of detail on how to put together an event quickly and easily. Each of the Guides are meant to be a starting point for planning an event. Each guide contains step-by-step instructions, posters ready for downloading, photos and contact information with Library Project staff members that are here to support you.

举办筹资活动不但为志愿者们提供了施展才能的平台，而且为农村小学和孤儿院的孩子们筹集到了各种儿童图书馆，丰富他们的课余生活和精神世界。每一项活动指南向您详细介绍如何快捷、有效地举办各种筹资活动，并一一展示如何开始筹备，如何实施等步骤，同时您还可以下载活动相关的海报，照片等。中华捐书会的工作人员期待与您取得联系，为您提供相关支持。

图书募集活动


	Book Collections Aston English has collected over 50,000 Chinese language children's books that have went into over 70 rural elementary schools and orphanages throughout China.		图书募集活动 Aston English所募集的50，000多本中文儿童图书已经被捐赠到70多所农村小学和孤儿院图书馆中。





	ClarkMorgan conducts book collections at each of their "demo" courses which have supported over 15 elementary school library donations located in Sichuan and Shaanxi Provinces.		ClarkMorgan在每次的“公开展示课”上进行图书募集活动。他们所筹集到的图书已经被捐赠到位于四川省和陕西省共计15所农村小学图书馆中。





	Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID) conducts book collections each semester and has raised enough books and funds for three rural elementary school libraries.		上海市上海中学国际部每学年在校内进行图书募集活动。他们已经为三所农村小学募集到了3座儿童图书馆和相应资金。


	Wine Tastings The Toastmasters Leadership Club held an amazing wine tasting fundraiser in Shanghai on March 19, 2009. Over 40 people came out to raise funds to provide the Shi Chuan Gou Elementary School with a library, learn about wine, and meet new friends. 4,715 RMB was raised through ticket sales, cash donations, and wine auction.		品酒会 The Toastmasters Leadership Club于2009年3月19日在上海成功举办了一次葡萄酒品酒会。共有40多人光临，该筹资活动不仅为石船沟小学筹得了一座儿童图书馆，还令来宾们对葡萄酒的文化有了更进一步的了解，结交朋友。可喜的是，通过售票，现金捐赠及葡萄酒拍卖本次活动共计筹集了4715圆人民币。





	Celia Hatton held her 2nd annual wine tasting fundraiser at The Hutong in Beijing. Over 80 people came out to raise funds to provide library donations to Xia Jia Elementary School and Zhi Jia Gou Elementary School, learn about wine, and meet new friends.		另外，Celia Hatton在北京的胡同酒吧举办了第二届葡萄酒品酒会，80多位宾客参加了本次品酒会。大家在品酒的同时还共同为夏家村小学，支家沟小学筹集图书馆捐赠资金。





	The Hutong in Beijing held an incredible Wine and Cheese Tasting . Over 70 people came out to raise funds to provide library donation to Zhi Jia Gou Elementary School, learn about wine, and meet new friends.		The Hutong还专门举办了美酒奶酪品尝会。现场共有70多位来宾参与了为支家沟小学图书馆捐赠的筹资活动。


	Beer for Books Our most popular event is probably the simplest to organize, Beer for Books. Simply find a bar that will provide a nice drink special with a small donation included with each beer purchase.		图书啤酒会最受欢迎而且最易组织的筹资活动要算图书啤酒会了。找个小酒吧，只要让来宾们了解购买的每瓶啤酒中包含有捐资的份额就可以了。


	Business School/Alumni Groups The Robert H. Smith School of Business has hosted three annual charity fundraiser in Shanghai, China. They have raised funds for 46 rural elementary school library donations located in the Anhui Province, China.		商学院聚会／同学会 The Robert H. Smith School of Business已经在中国上海筹办了三届慈善年会。他们所筹集的资金已经惠及中国安徽省的农村小学图书馆捐建当中，到时将有41所小学从中受益。


	Speaking Engagements Tom Stader spoke at Spark '09 in Shanghai on October 23rd. 	Marathon Sponsorship The Robert H. Smith School of Business, Black & Decker and DeWALT have run the Shanghai Marathon to raise funds for libraries located in Anhui Province, China.		马拉松跑步 The Robert H. Smith School of Business，Black & Decker和DeWALT参加了上海马拉松跑步为中国安徽省的农村图书馆筹集资金。


	Art Openings Art+ has held two Charity Art Openings in Shanghai in support of The Library Project. They have raised funds for three rural elementary schools located in the Shaanxi Province.		艺术展 Art+为了支持中华捐书会的图书馆捐赠活动，他们在上海成功举办了两届艺术展，为中国陕西省的三所乡村小学图书馆筹集资金。


	Charity Poker Tournament Oxford Associates held a Charity Poker Tournament in Beijing. 20 people came out to raise funds to provide the Dai Jia He Elementary School with a library, play Texas Hold'em, and meet new friends. 5,500 CNY was raised through poker chip sales and cash donations.		慈善扑克大赛 Oxford Associates在北京举办了一届慈善扑克大赛。共有20多名选手参与本次活动为代家河小学图书馆筹集资金。选手们在玩扑克的同时还筹集了5500圆人民币。




	Working with a Club or Group Xi'an Foreign Business Forum held a Christmas Charity Dinner in Xi'an, China. Over 200 people came out to raise funds to provide the Lian Er Ping Elementary School with a library, eat turkey, and meet new friends. 3,600 CNY was raised through raffle ticket sales and cash donations.		与酒吧或团体合作 Xi'an Foreign Business Forum在中国西安举办的圣诞晚宴中，200多名宾客参加了为连二坪小学图书馆的筹资活动。本次晚宴通过现金捐赠和抽奖共筹集了3600圆人民币。
